Hello! We are the Gamma Chi chapter of Tau Beta Sigma, a band service sorority at Mansfield University!
Tau Beta Sigma- Gamma Chi
The Gamma Chi Chapter of Tau Beta Sigma at Mansfield University of PA
was founded on October 6, 1968. It was installed by the Beta Chi Chapter at Cornell University.
Our local mascot is the Unicorn, coming from the prefix of the word Unity and the Italian word "corn", meaning horns. Together, this means the unification of horns.
Our advisers are Dr. Adam Brennan, Director of Bands and Percussion Studies, Dr. Rebecca Dodson-Webster, horn instructor and Dr. Susan Laib, double reeds instructor.
Our chapter is lucky enough to have a joint chapter with Kappa Kappa Psi at Mansfield University.
Our Mission:
Tau Beta Sigma's motto is "Tau Beta Sigma for Greater Bands."
We are here not only to serve the band, its director, and ultimately the department, but most importantly, the individual student.
We support the musical achievements of the individual, regardless of whether or not they are sisters.
Tau Beta Sigma promotes an appreciation for band music through service, recognition, and leadership.
